RO & EDI
RO(Reverse Osmosis), the basic working principle is : using of a special high pressure pump, increasing pressure to raw water, then force raw water penetrating through reverse osmosis membrane under the pressure. Only water molecules and solvent less than microns can pass through the RO membrane. EDI (Electrodeionization) is a revolutionary water treatment technology ,it is a membrane separation desalination technology that skillfully combined the electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology together ,which is high-tech , green and environmental protection technology. EDI plant has very high requests to raw water, usually we use double stage RO system production water as its raw water.

Process Characteristics

EDI process using an ion selective membrane and ion exchange resin under dc voltage is sandwiched between two electrodes, between between the poles of dc electric field from the RO water processed by the removal of ions, EDI process system instead of the traditional hybrid resin bed to make deionized water, with ion exchange mixed bed big difference is that EDI can continuous to ion process, High degree of automation, and does not need acid and alkali regeneration.

Advantages of EDI compared with traditional mixed bed

The advantages of continuous desalting by electrodialysis and deep desalting by ion exchange are retained;
Compared with ordinary ion exchange resin column, the amount of ion exchange resin is less, saving more than 95% of resin;
Ion exchange resin does not need acid and alkali chemical regeneration, saving a lot of acid and alkali and cleaning water,
greatly reducing labor intensity;
No waste acid waste lye discharge, is clean production technology, green environmental protection products;
The process is easy to realize automatic control, EDI and reverse osmosis (RO), UF and other water treatment technology combined,can form a perfect high pure water production line;
Small footprint, and do not need to be like ion-exchange beds, a set of in-use, a set of regeneration of the repeated Settings.
