Process characteristics

Precautions for use and cleaning of EDI equipment
Matters needing attention when EDI device is running
1. Must meet the water inlet conditions.
2. Fresh water inlet pressure > concentrated water inlet pressure 10PSI≈0.07MPa.
3. Product water outlet pressure ≥ Concentrate water discharge pressure 10PSI ≈ 0.07MPa.
4. When the EDI rectification equipment is out of service, RO (or water of the same water quality) must not pass through the equipment.
5. Reduce frequent downtime of equipment.
Equipment outage for a long time
1. If the EDI system is out of service for more than 3 days, it should be protected for a long time out of service to avoid the growth of microorganisms inside the EDI.
2. Cut off all power switches in the PLC control cabinet.
3. Allow the remaining water in the EDI piping system to drain to avoid stagnant water in between.
4. Close all system valves.
5. After restarting after a long period of shutdown, the membrane block may need to be disinfected, cleaned or regenerated.
Advantages of EDI compared with traditional mixed bed:
The advantages of continuous desalting by electrodialysis and deep desalting by ion exchange are retained;
